About

The Global Risk Intelligence Center (RiskIntel) was created to provide a free public resource for hand-curated news and intelligence on global risk issues. In addition to providing aggregated content collected from open sources, RiskIntel will also provide original content and analysis.

RiskIntel updates are provided 24/7 on a variety of threat topics.  Our primary distribution system is via Twitter, email, and the web. Items for inclusion are hand-selected by analysts to track real-time global risk issues.

Follow us on Twitter (@riskintel) for breaking headlines.  Your Twitter account can also be configured to email or send you an SMS message to your mobile phone when new alerts are posted.

We offer the following email lists that you can subscribe to:

  • Fusion Alert – Only the most critical alerts are sent (large attacks, natural disasters or other sustained and significant emergencies)
  • ThreatFusion Daily Digest – A daily digest of all items posted on Twitter and the ThreatFusion web site.

Our web site provides more deliberate analysis as well as links to featured content.

The following features are in development:

  • iPhone application
  • GRID – Global Risk Incident Database

RiskIntel is the final result of two experiments in tracking global risk issues. In 2008, an automated aggregation capability called RiskMeme was created to filter global risk news (similar to the technology site techmeme.com). In 2009, ThreatFusion was introduced to provide hand-curated aggregation of global risk news. In 2010, the projects were combined to create RiskIntel.com which utilizes the automated aggregation system from RiskMeme to generate items for review by human analysts which are then published selectively on the site. In 2011 RiskIntel will start featuring original content and analysis as well host risk related relational databases.
